For other kids who do not have any idea what to choose, and would like you to help them with it, you can use these basis in selecting a musical instrument for your child.

1. You can assess their physical attributes, strengths and weaknesses, to know what kinds of instruments they will find easy to handle. For example, an introvert kid may prefer piano and guitar that they can play on their own than going for instruments that can be played along with a band. Do not give them big instruments that they need to carry most of the time while they are training, if these won't suit their body type.

2. Bring your child along with you at the store where they can sample using the instruments before you buy anything. This way, they can finalize their decisions based on what feels right and what sounds good to them.

The main thing that you have to remember in selecting a musical instrument for your child is to allow them to make their own choices. When this happens, there will be more chances that they will stand by what they have chosen and go about training no matter how hard it seems to be.
